Beginning January 1, NYS law requires free and convenient recycling of electronic waste to most consumers in the state. NYS Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act (Environmental Conservation Law, Article 27, Title 26).

This law states that NO charges can be made to dispose of any types of electronicsincluding televisions, regardless of age, size, model, etc.

The Monroe County / Waste Management ecopark began accepting electronics at no charge on November 1, ahead of the new requirements.

Additional drop off points that make this process easier for residents:

  • All local Goodwill drop off points now accept electronics, in cooperation with Brockport-based Sunnking
  • Sunnking also has an inclusive locator tool that may help your residents to find alternative outlets: https://www.sunnking.com/dropoff
