Brockport Summer Serenades 2026!

The Village of Brockport announces the start of the annual FREE Summer Serenades music series.  The season’s highlight concert is at 7:00 pm on TUESDAY July 7.  The RPO will perform indoors at the SERC on the SUNY Brockport campus for a special 250th birthday celebration, thanks in part to generous in-kind support from the university, and funded in part with support from the NYS Canal Corporation and the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.

All other Serenades concerts are outdoors, as usual, on the canal at the Brockport Welcome Center, 11 Water Street just east of Main Street.  These Thursday evening concerts are at 7:00pm in July and 6:30 in August when the sun sets earlier.  A wonderful range of family appropriate music is scheduled.  No tickets are required and folding chairs are strongly suggested.  Bring a picnic, maybe a blanket if sitting on the grass and come early to get a good spot.  There’s space for dancing, too.

In case of weather issues, the music will be moved indoors to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a few blocks away at Main and State streets.  (Sign up with the Village for Notifications about changes.)

Some of the 2026 groups are frequently requested community favorites and some have direct local connections, like The Swooners.  A new addition is Brockport’s Joey Stempien with his Big Band composed of stellar young musicians.  Their energy and enthusiasm alone will certainly make you smile and perhaps want to dance along.

It’s a great season lineup –

July 7               RPO at the SERC
July 16             Big Mike and the Motivators
July 23             Joey Stempien Big Band
July 30             FEEDBACK

August 6         The Swooners
August 13       Waiting for Jacob

August 20       Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra

Artist fees and advertising expenses are covered with the generous support of community members and local businesses. The series is produced with in-kind support from the Village of Brockport and by a small group of volunteers who believe passionately in the value of making quality music available to everyone.  Donations are always welcome – checks can be sent to Village of Brockport (with Serenades noted), 127 Main Street, Brockport, NY 14420.  Call the Village for additional information – 585-637-5300 ext 112.
